Striker Jimmy played in the FA Youth Cup winning side in 1982 and went on to play and score for the first team in the First Division and Europe. He was also later on the club’s coaching staff.
Pat Rice
Northern Ireland international defender Pat signed for Watford in 1980, becoming club captain and helping secure the club’s first promotion to the top flight.
Gerry Armstrong
Striker Gerry joined Watford while in the Second Division in 1980. The Northern Ireland international went on to score the club’s first ever goal in the top flight.
Les Taylor
Midfielder Les joined the club from Oxford United in 1980 and captained the team in the FA Cup Final in 1984.
Nigel Callaghan
Talented right winger Nigel came through the youth team and made his debut in 1980. He left the club in 1987 but made a brief return on loan in 1991.
Kenny Jackett
Kenny came through the youth ranks and played for Watford between 1980 and 1990 before retiring with a knee injury. He then held various coaching roles at the club, including managing the first team for one season.
Steve Terry
Centre-half Steve came through the youth system and made his debut in 1980. He went on to play in Europe and the FA Cup Final for the club.
Eric Steele
Goalkeeper Eric joined Watford in 1979 and spent five years at the club, initially as first choice but then as back-up to Steve Sherwood.
Wilf Rostron
Sunderland born Wilf Rostron was signed in 1979 as a left-winger. He moved to full-back and went on to win the Player of the Season award two seasons in a row.
Steve Sims
Central defender Steve enjoyed two spells with the club between 1978 and 1987 including playing and captaining the side in Europe.
Steve Harrison
Steve played, coached and managed Watford between 1978 and 1990. He was part of the successful coaching team in the 1980s under Graham Taylor.
Ian Bolton
Defender Ian was signed from Notts County in 1977 and was described by Graham Taylor as his best ever buy. He played in all four divisions for the club as well as in the UEFA Cup.
Steve Sherwood
Goalkeeper Steve played in all four divisions, Europe and the Cup Final for Watford and spent ten seasons at the club.
Luther Blissett
Luther had three playing spells at the club was Watford’s first million pound player, was first team coach and the first inductee into the club’s Hall of Fame.
Trevor How
Defender Trevor joined Watford as a schoolboy in 1971, and was given his debut in early 1975 by Mike Keen. He was part of the squad under Graham Taylor that won promotion out of Division Four and Division Three in consecutive seasons.
Roger Joslyn
Midfielder Roger signed in 1974 and went on to play more than 200 games for the club and enjoyed two promotions with the club.
Alan Mayes
Striker Alan signed for the Hornets from Queens Park Rangers, making his debut in the old Fourth Division in 1974. He spent five years at the club.
Keith Mercer
Striker Keith came through the youth ranks at Watford and became their youngest ever player when he made his debut as a substitute aged 16 years and 125 days old.
Ross Jenkins
Striker Ross joined Watford in 1972 from Crystal Palace. He went on spend 11 years at the club including playing in all four divisions.
Andy Rankin
Goalkeeper Andy joined the Hornets in 1971 from boyhood club Everton and went on to make one short of 300 appearances for the club during a nine-year spell.
Colin Franks
Midfielder Colin joined the Hornets from Wealdstone in 1969, spending four seasons at the club and making more than 100 appearances.
Mike Walker
Mike played in goal for Watford for five seasons between 1968 and 1973 and famously went on to manage Norwich City and Everton.
Keith Eddy
Barrow born midfielder Keith joined Watford from his hometown club in 1966 and played more than 200 games over a six year spell with the club.
Stewart Scullion
Winger Stewart had two spells at the club, initially joining from Charlton Athletic, then moving back from Sheffield United.
Johnny Williams
Left-back Johnny Williams played more than 400 games for the Hornets between 1964 and 1975.
Dennis Bond
Midfielder Dennis had two spells at the club totalling eight years, with a spell at boyhood club Tottenham Hotspur and Charlton Athletic in between.
Duncan Welbourne
Wing-half Duncan signed for the Hornets in November 1963 and went on to set a club record for consecutive appearances, 457 in total and 280 in the Football League.
